About us

Born and raised in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia, their common loves of music, Appalachian culture, psychology, and a healthy dose of wanderlust brought them together. These same common passions now propel them toward new adventures every day. Married since 2017, Brad and Kelley Kinder have served others throughout their lives in ministry and as counselors for a combined 38 years. As lifelong learners currently on track to obtain PsyD’s in clinical psychology in 2025, Kelley is training for specialization in geriatric neuropsychology, while Brad is building upon years of experience owning a faith-based private practice and working formerly in the Department of Corrections, to specialize in forensic psychology. Their research and treatment interests include the effects of trauma on brain development, the use of reminiscence therapy for dementia, the devastating outcomes of the opioid epidemic in rural Appalachia, and spiritual abuse within the charismatic church.
