Renewed Day by Day ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16 ~ ESV

Another Journey Begins….

What would it be like to never strive to live life to the fullest? That is certainly not a consideration for us. The past seven years have been full of adventures that have literally taken us to new heights. As I write this post, my husband is flying overhead in our four-seater Cirrus SR22. He often describes it to fellow aviation enthusiasts, saying, “It’s the one with the parachute!” You see, that’s how he convinced me in December 2020 that it would be a good idea for him to become a private pilot and own an airplane. As he anticipatingly showed me a video of what the plane has to offer, I learned that if an emergency happens in a Cirrus aircraft, you are able to pull a lever that shoots a parachute out of the top of the plane, which then (as gently as could be expected) drifts the entire plane down to the ground. This safety feature on the Cirrus has saved 253 lives to date, according to the Cirrus Owners & Pilots Association. I have always been a pretty easy sell with him, so I was convinced, and the next thing I knew, we were strapped into our new-to-us private airplane, flying from Southwest Virginia to Charleston, South Carolina with our instructor. I say “our” instructor because, yes, I began taking lessons with him. I have since put that on the back-burner, because, as you will learn in future posts, we have a few other engagements that occupy our time, but I do intend to train more at some point in the future.

There are many reasons that I love my life, but I will elaborate now on just two. First and foremost, I have been blessed with overwhelming grace that allows me to live freely and walk in my faith, as a Christian. For this, I am so thankful. Second, I am grateful for my marriage and my wonderful husband. We live together, work alongside each other, spend a lot of time together doing all of the things we enjoy, and we continue to genuinely adore each other. He is my favorite person! So as this journey begins, I won’t disclose every detail of our intentions with launching this blog, website, and other social media platforms to follow, but I will leave you with this paraphrase from Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart.”

Love hard and fly high!
